Never have I seen such an enormous eucalyptus tree - over 15 feet in diameter and well over 100 feet high. I am reminded of the eucalyptus trees I used to climb and hide in when I was so frightened as a child. They became more than a place to hide. They became my protectors, my guides, my teachers. They became the source for The Hugging Tree, my book that awaits my return home so that it can be completed. return to 8 October 2003
